Easy Garden Plants to Grow

Easy Garden Plants to Grow

Posted on January 15, 2023January 15, 2023 By Vincent Stewart

If you want to start a garden and are looking for easy to grow plants, there are a few to choose from. These include sunflowers, caladium, creeping juniper, and Lilac sage.

Zucchini

Zucchini is a heat-loving plant that requires no extremely nutrient-rich soil. Its glossy, green leaves make for a delicious vegetable that’s also easy to grow. The mellow flavor makes it great for roasting.

You can start zucchini seeds indoors in mid-summer and then transplant them to your garden in early autumn. Planting can be done in raised beds or containers.

Depending on the variety you choose, you should expect a harvest in 45 to 55 days. If you don’t have a lot of space, try a bush-type. This will produce a longer, straighter, more uniform zucchini.

Tender greens

Aside from the obvious reason to grow them, greens are also a great way to get more Vitamin C, antioxidants, and iron. It’s easy to start your own edible greens garden, and they don’t take up a lot of space.

There are many varieties of edible greens to choose from. Some are best eaten raw, while others can be cooked. For example, bok choy, also known as Chinese mustard, is a delicious two-for-one herb that adds a crunchy texture to your meals.

Leafy greens are also an economical option. In addition, they can be grown from seed and are a great way to extend your growing season.

Lilac sage

If you’re looking for the easiest garden plant to grow, look no further than sage. It is a perennial plant that can be grown in a container. You can also grow it outdoors. Sage is a drought-tolerant perennial that grows well in the dry, sunny climates of the deserts of the American West.

The easiest way to care for sage is to water it regularly. It prefers well-draining soil with a pH level between 5.5 and 6.5. To make sure your soil is the right pH, use a potting mix that has drainage holes in it.

Caladium

Caladium is a plant that can add exotic and lush touch to your yard. It can be planted in a pot or a container, or as a bed plant. With its colorful foliage, this plant can create a tropical mood in your garden.

Before you start growing caladium, it is important to prepare the soil. Caladiums prefer rich, moist soil. The soil should be well-drained and pH level should be 5.5 to 6.2. You can use a slow release fertilizer, but not more than once a month.

When the weather is warm, it is best to place a pot of caladiums in a shaded area. However, it is possible to grow caladiums in full sun.

Armeria

Armeria is a perennial plant that grows well in areas with dry soil. It is ideal for use in rock gardens, containers, and on the edges of flower beds.

This plant is popular for its attractive flowers. The flowers grow on long, slender stems and are usually pink or white. They are easy to care for and make great cut flowers.

Armeria is a member of the Plumbaginaceae family, which is known for its dwarf perennials. It is a good choice for coastal and xeriscape gardens. These plants can adapt to a variety of conditions and will often grow pest free.

Creeping juniper

Creeping juniper (Juniperus horizontalis) is an evergreen groundcover that can be used for both rock gardens and hardscapes. It grows well in many soil types and will adapt to a wide range of temperatures. In addition to its attractive foliage and subtle fragrance, creeping juniper can be used in a variety of landscape designs.

Depending on the species, creeping juniper will vary in height and spread. It can also vary in color. Some are reddish, while others have blue foliage. They are good choices for adding color and texture to rock gardens.

Sunflowers

Sunflowers are a great garden plant to grow, and they are also very affordable. You can get seedlings from a home improvement store or from a local nursery. There are many different varieties of sunflowers, ranging from dwarf to tall.

To help your sunflowers grow, you will need to provide them with adequate sunlight and water. It is also important to protect them from pests and birds. If you don’t have room for a full-grown plant, try growing them in a pot.

The easiest way to grow sunflowers is from seed. Sunflowers have a large root system, which helps them get moisture from deep in the soil. They are fairly drought-tolerant when they are mature. However, they should be watered regularly in dry spells.
